Do Cordless phones interfere with my connection?

Our service uses radio frequencies in the 2.4Ghz range, and as such 2.4Ghz cordless phones may disrupt a wireless internet connection. We recommend that customers not use 2.4Ghz telephones while using the service.

What kind of software do I need for service?

An operating system that is compatible with 802.11b networking cards (contact your supplier for details).  We highly recommend the use of a firewall to stop hackers getting into your system.  With broadband connections the risk of hacking is greater than slow dial in connections.

Do I need to maintain a dial-up account?

Having a dial-up connection as a backup would provide you with a back up service should you ever experience trouble with your UK Wireless service, but it is not absolutely necessary.  Our service is fully independent of any other telecom services.  This means you can use it when you are on the phone or even if you don't have a telephone line!  However some people simply like a backup internet provider.  We provide an 0845 internet access number.
