What equipment do I need to connect?

You will need at a 802.11b wireless networking card.  These come in three flavours: PCI Card, or PCMCIA card, or USB device.  You will also need an external antenna and a pigtail cable to link the two.

How much will the equipment cost?

A 802.11b network card can typically cost between £40-60.  These can be purchased from local computer shops, computer fairs, the internet or from us.  External antennas cost from £30 upwards.  However you can make your own.  See forum for detail and discussion on these or you can contact us for more information.

Can I use my own equipment to receive your service?

You can use own equipment as long as it is compatible with our network.  If you are going to order your own and you wish to use it to receive our wireless broadband service please check with us before purchasing to make sure it is compatible.

What kind of cable do I need to connect my card to an antenna?

You will need a pigtail cable to connect from the antenna to the wireless networking card.  You will need to check the connector on the card before buying a cable.  A list of cards and connector types can be found here.
